"That is my hope," says Aramis, and he is selfish enough to mean it, "But I have never broken his heart before." His eyes heat, and Aramis resists, knowing that if he weeps now he will not stop. Somewhere quiet, he will give Isabelle the tears she deserves, and weep for so many others, but not here in Porthos' own home.
